The Growth of China on Google Maps

Since the demise of the old Soviet Union the countries of Central Asia have been increasingly strengthening their economic ties with China.

China in Central Asia is a Google Map that highlights some of the examples of China's economic involvement in the area, particularly in energy, precious metals, and other natural resources. Users of the map can click on countries to read an overview of that country's economic and political ties with China and click on the map markers to read about individual projects.

The map is an interesting insight into China's growing influence in the region and the map sidebar includes links to the International Crisis Group's report into China’s Central Asia Problem.
